Keyword Cannibalization

Also called: Internal Keyword Competition

Keyword cannibalization occurs when multiple pages on the same website target and rank for the identical keyword. This confuses search engines, splitting your link equity and ranking signals across multiple URLs instead of consolidating them into one strong page.

Tip from Sanoop: Audit your site with a search query in Google (site:yourdomain.com 'keyword'). If multiple pages show up with similar intent, merge their content into a single pillar page and 301 redirect the duplicate URL.
